Production
Responsible production
We only publish what we can stand behind. Below are the concrete things we do in the greenhouses – and the figures we can actually document.

Water in circulation
We collect rainwater from the greenhouse roofs and recirculate irrigation water in production so the same water can be used several times.

Energy efficient production
In 2023 and 2024 we replaced large parts of the greenhouse lighting at Nistedvej and Kirkegyden with LED. The new fixtures use around 30% of the electricity of the old ones. The project received support from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. In total we use around 25% less electricity and around 40% less heat than in 2008.

Biological crop protection
We work with beneficial insects in the crops and monitor production closely so the need for chemistry is kept down.

Continuous improvement
We measure consumption, adjust climate control and test new methods season by season. We only publish figures we can document.
Documentation
The LED project in 2023 and 2024 was carried out with support from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. If you need further documentation for your purchasing or reporting, we will send what we have – and say clearly when a figure cannot be documented.
